YourTransfer24 is a comprehensive transportation hub providing seamless airport transfers and chauffeur services across the Dominican Republic. The goal was to modernize a decade-old legacy system into a high-speed, secure, and scalable platform that serves both individual travelers (B2C) and corporate partners (B2B).
The Case Study: Modernizing Legacy Logistics
1. The Challenge: Legacy Instability & Compatibility
The project began with a critical mission: upgrading an outdated system without disrupting active business operations. The primary hurdle was the incompatibility between the latest Chauffeur Booking System (CHBS) updates and SiteGround’s hosting environment. Standard updates were breaking core functionalities, and the existing site speed was hindered by fragmented custom code scattered across various plugins.
2. Technical Obstacles
Hosting Conflicts: The new version of the booking engine was not aligning with SiteGround’s server-side optimizations, leading to performance bottlenecks.
Hybrid Business Model: The platform needed to handle complex B2B (Agency/Partner) workflows alongside standard B2C bookings, requiring a unified but distinct logic for each user type.
Code Debt: Years of “quick-fix” custom code inside core plugins made the system fragile and impossible to update safely.
3. The Solution: Custom Plugin Architecture
I shifted the strategy from “patching” to “re-engineering.”
Decoupled Customization: I extracted all custom business logic and API integrations from core files and moved them into independent, well-organized custom plugins. This ensures that the main system can be updated to the latest versions in the future without losing any custom functionality.
Deep Speed Optimization: By refactoring the interaction between CHBS and the server, and implementing advanced caching strategies, I achieved a fluid, high-speed booking experience even on heavy traffic days.
B2B & B2C Integration: I developed a custom layer to manage partner accounts, allowing travel agencies and businesses to book through a dedicated portal while maintaining a simple interface for solo travelers.
4. Results
The V1 launch resulted in a rock-solid, future-proof platform. Security was significantly tightened, and the site now maintains peak performance on SiteGround. The client can now scale their partner network (B2B) globally, knowing the underlying architecture is clean, documented, and ready for the next decade of growth.
